Schools On A Mission (SOAM)
After School Program
After School Program
Touching Heart is on a mission to spread the joy of giving among youth, to challenge and inspire kids to think beyond themselves and make a difference!
Our after-school curriculum encourages students to talk and learn about issues kids around the world face every day. Throughout the session, children discuss important social issues and participant in service projects. Students will get first-hand experience helping others and turn their compassion into action while having a ton of fun!
In this program, kids build their communication and leadership skills, as well as their confidence, while learning about people in need in their communities and around the world. Hands-on service projects, such as preparing food for homeless shelters and writing letters to orphans, allow kids to turn their compassion into action and make a real difference!
Elementary School: Eight weeks, meets weekly and focuses on the basics of compassion and hands-on-service projects such as preparing food for homeless shelters
Middle School: Year-long, meets weekly, combines educational curriculum with events planned by students to raise funds for causes they select
High School: Year-long, meets 1 or 2 times a month, project-based curriculum where students are presented with social issue or need, they figure out a solution, and then lead fundraising events to implement their solution.
Program participants will –
