Minecraft for a Mission a Huge Success Posted August 11, 2015 by admin

Minecraft-1024x682Young gamers united for a day of friendly competition while raising money for other kids in need. It was a sold-out event on January 31 at George Mason University! In fact, the event was so popular, we had 39 kids on a waiting list. Most notably, this event was planned and hosted by children in our Kids on a Mission program! The kids raised a whopping $2400 to purchase a chicken farm for our partner orphanage in Kenya. The farm will provide food and a sustainable income. This goes to show that even young people can be world changers through kindness and compassion. We thank our wonderful, community sponsors and the Mason Game & Technology Academy for partnering with us for this awesome event. We also extend a special thanks to our kids team: Nate Owen, Colin Luongo, Ella Kylvag, Tyler Smith, Amelia Luongo and coach Susan Tseng.
