Organizers-1024x685Four dedicated high school students spent their summer break planning and strategizing for our 2nd Kids on a Mission Fun Run. They created a budget, solicited donations and corporate sponsorships, sharpened their public speaking skills and organized every detail of the event under the direction of a Touching Heart coach. They learned the importance of promoting and marketing their event to sell tickets and gain community support. These are practical skills that Touching Heart hopes to instill in each of our Kids on a Mission leaders. By the event day on September 14th, the ladies were ready to go! The event featured free breakfast donated by Jason’s Deli, a fun balloon arch for runners to run through and a chance to win some awesome raffle items! This young team was able to raise more than $2500 to buy school supplies for local kids in foster care and help finish a school building in Kenya. This tops funds raised in our first Fun Run. We are so proud of their work!
